Screen GIF

Screen GIF provides a straightforward and efficient way of recording the screen. As its name suggests, the application takes screenshots continuously and saves them as an animated GIF. Its controls are simple and very easy to master. Even novice users can record their screen without any kind of difficulties.

Although Screen GIF comes with a price tag, an unlimited trial version is available. The application is compatible with all popular Windows versions and it can be installed in a few moments. It uses an insignificant amount of resources and it doesn't have any special requirements.

When launched, the application will display a rectangle, which you can resize and move over the area you wish to capture. Once it is in place, you only need to click a button on the rectangle and the application will start recording right away. It will display the number of captured frames during the recording and you can stop it immediately by clicking the same button a second time.

The recorded footage will be played back on a loop, on a small window, immediately after you stop recording. You can play the recording from start to finish, on an infinite loop or otherwise or you can preview each frame individually, be moving a slider. If you are satisfied with your recording, you can save it as an animated GIF, through a standard Save As dialog.

The screenshots that Screen GIF takes are optimized for GIF animations. What's more, the application allows you to capture in grey scale and reduce the size of the screenshots, to make the recording take up less space. All you have to do is click a few check boxes on a compact settings panel, to activate these tweaks.
